There was a joint session of the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Roundtable.

April is Youth Protection Month. We watched the Boy Scout Youth Protection Overview DVD Everyone was encouraged to stay current on their Youth Protection Training. Now that it is on the web at http://www.scouting.org/Applications/MyScoutingFull.aspx is easier than ever to stay current.

Cathy Black, Senior Forester with the Georgia Forestry  Commission and Manager of Spirit Creek Educational Forest, talked about Eagle Project opportunities, Webelos Forestry Activity badge and the Boy Scout Merit Badges - Forestry, Soil and Water Conservation, and Pulp & Paper Making.  Cathy left us with great posters and tree identification books.  The Forest Creek Educational Forest will hold the following merit badge sessions in June and July: WEBELOS Forestry Activity Badge June 11, 2008 10-12 AM Soil and Water Conservation Merit Badge June 25, 2008 9-12 AM Forestry Merit Badge July 23,2008 9-12 AM Pulp and Paper Merit Badge July 30, 2008 10-12

There was a joint session of the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Roundtable devoted to shooting sports.  Steve Meldrum, the Manager of Pinetucky Gun Club gave a gun safety lecture.  Bill Charters talked about the Merit Badge requirements.  The participants were given the opportunity to shoot shotguns on the skeet range, handguns on the handgun range, and air rifles on the indoor range.

	Chickasaw District Pinewood Derby is to be held on 3/15/08 and is hosted by Pack 45.
	Unit Re-Charter Unit Re-Charters - 15 of 27 have bee received.  The others are late and need to be turned in ASAP. Encourage all Merit Badge Counselors  to register

Boy Scout - Photography Merit Badge

	Keith Jones, Manager of Wolf Camera, gave a presentation of how to earn the Photography Merit Badge.  He had photos to show us how to take better pictures and to explained what the merit badge is trying teach.

	District Re-charter We asked several people who are filling District Roles to turn in applications for those positions Encouraged all Merit Badge Counselors  to register Several people filled out applications
	Reminded people that there is only 1 more day to register for University of Scouting at the reduced rate.  Went over the Youth Leadership Courses being taught.  This is the 1st time in a while the Youth Leaders have been included in U of Scouting.
	Distributed Unit ID numbers for the "Good Turn for America" website and described how to enter information.
	Distributed the Family Friends of Scouting Flyer.  FoS presentations should be scheduled for January and February.
	The people attending were asked to consider if we want to move the February Roundtable to Pinetucky Gun Club and devote an whole roundtable to Shooting Sports.
