January is Re-Charter Month
Every Unit should have their re-charter
process completed this month and the re-charter packet and fees turned into
the Council by the end of the month.
For the following years, BSA is moving to
the Centennial Quality Awards. There is a great deal of information at

Some key points:
 | The award is being separated from the
re-chartering process (I believe all that means is that the due dates no
longer correspond with the re-charter dates but rather start with a
commitment in February and are checked in November to see if the
commitment was met.)

| There are new
Centennial
Quality Unit forms which are due before 2/15/09.
These forms are basically a promise to fulfill the requirements for a
Quality Unit Award in 2009. I would recommend you turn these in with
your 2009 re-charter package.

| After October 31, 2009 and before
December 31, 2009 the forms will be used to see if your unit met their
goals and if so your unit will receive the the new Centennial Quality Unit
Award. I would recommend you keep a copy of your 2009 Centennial
Quality Unit Form to refer to through out the year and to submit at the
end of the year to get the award. |
